Growing up in a Midwest city that even some Chinese have never heard of, I didn’t foresee life taking me to where I am now, but I always believed in the endless possibilities of life and wanted to push my boundaries. I suppose this belief is what’s been guiding me on the life journey, from the past to the present, and hopefully into the future.

I often find the term “nomad” attractive as it embodies the idea of a new start and more potential in life. And traveling is my way of being nomadic. I have been eager to travel to all seven continents in the world. By far, I set foot on Asia, Europe, North and South America.

Music is a paramount part of my life. It has accompanied me for more than half of my life. It adds to my joyful mood in bright moments and brings solace to me during the dark times. I cherish every day when music is still around.

I think artworks are fascinating both to the eyes and the heart. I am interested in a variety of art forms, although I am particularly attracted to the impressionist style. Some of my favorite painters include Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munch, and Claude Monet.

I practice the piano almost every day

I started playing the piano in 2022 and have been hitting the keys every day since. Pure joy is what motivates me to keep practicing. On an irrelevant note, some of my favorite musicians include Schubert, Debussy, Beethoven, and Joe Hisaishi.

One of the major reasons is that I want to hone my managerial and leadership skills as I consider these important when I am in mid-career. However, this is more like a long-term plan. I don’t see this coming in at least 5 years.
